Safety Services:
Lease With Ease, No Worry Lease
In today’s world of Negligent Entrustment*, companies must be keenly aware of the drivers operating their company vehicles. This includes knowing which drivers have been historically unsafe or careless in their operation of vehicles and taking steps to ensure drivers are safe and acting responsibly.
The VFM Safety Service program can assist companies in the process of evaluating their fleet vehicle risk and simplify the actions to reduce it.
The VFM Safety Services program provides companies MVRs (Motor Vehicle Records) for their requested drivers.
The records will show which drivers have moving violations, alcohol or drug related operating offenses, and any other state reported safety issues.
The program is simple to implement and can be used for new drivers, all drivers on a periodic basis (annually for example), spouses, or random drivers.
Putting a plan in place and following it is the first step towards a safely run fleet.
To utilize this program customers will need to complete and sign an end-user agreement for the record provider, then simply request which drivers on which they would like MVRs run. The MVRs will be generated and then sent to the customer for review.
Contact VFM HQ for more details or if you would like to participate in this program.
*Negligent Entrustment
Under this theory, an employer may be held liable for the negligent or intentional tort (wrongful act) of an employee on the basis that the employer breached a duty to use due care in selecting and retaining only safe and competent employees. The potential scope of liability for an employer is further expanded because it is not necessary to establish an employer/employee relationship. Liability is based upon entrustment of a chattel (personal property and, in this case, a vehicle), either directly or through a third person, to an employee who the employer knew or had reason to know was incompetent and posed a foreseeable risk of harm to others.
